Combo Classes
for Ages 2-7
Dancing Together (Ages 2-3 with parent) 30 minutes
As an introduction to movement for young children, this class is designed
with the parent and toddler in mind. Emphasis is on self-expression through
dance and tumbling basics. Come enjoy nursery rhymes, pantomime & rhythmic
exercises for fun with your little one.
Attire: pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers. Parents wear
comfortable clothing and socks.
Creative Movement I (Ages 3-4 ) & II (Ages 4-5) 45 minutes
Creative Movement is designed as an
introduction to the joys of dance and movement. This class uses ballet, tap
and tumbling steps to spark creativity and improve coordination, as well as
develop social skills such as listening, taking turns and working with
others. Basic terminology and positions are introduced.
Attire: pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet
slippers, tan tie tap shoes.
Kindercombo (Ages 5-6) 60 minutes
This is a combined class of ballet
and tap with the exciting addition of jazz. The ballet and tap portions of
the class build on the basics and challenge students to demonstrate proper
placement and technique. Dancers also get to try their hand at learning jazz
fundamentals while dancing to their favorite popular tunes.
Attire: pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet
slippers, tan tie tap shoes.
Dancecombo (Ages
6-7) 90 minutes
Become a triple threat in this combination class of ballet, jazz/hip-hop
and tap. Students continue learning proper placement, technique and
vocabulary and are challenged with more intricate combinations.
Attire: black leotard, pink or tan tights, pink ballet slippers, tan tie tap shoes,
tan tie jazz shoes.
Dance Classes
for Ages 7 and up
Ballet (Ages
7 and up)
45-90 minutes
Formal ballet technique will be
taught utilizing proper terminology and vocabulary and will emphasize
correct placement and body alignment. Presentation and musicality will also
be stressed. Based on the internationally recognized Royal Academy of Dance
method, a progression of levels challenge dancers as they acquire
age-appropriate concepts. Ballet provides a strong foundation for all other
dance techniques and it is recommended that all TDC dancers participate in
ballet class. Recreational and pre-professional tracks suit a variety of
needs.
Attire: black tank leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers
Pointe 30-45 minutes
Class must be taken in conjunction with ballet and with permission of
instructor. Barre and center practice work on strength, stretch and
placement for the beginning pointe student.

Jazz/Hip Hop & Tap (Ages 7 and up) 60-90 minutes
Learn a broad range of jazz styles from
the classics to the latest Hip Hop moves. Master tap steps such as the
Maxi-Ford, Time Step and Shuffle off to Buffalo. Technique and terminology
are developed through warm-up sequences, across the floor work and
combinations.
Attire: leotard, pink tights, tan jazz shoes, tan tie tap shoes (Levels 5 &
above wear tan heeled tap shoes)
Boys' Hip-Hop
(Ages 7-12) 45 minutes
Tap
(Ages 9-16) 45 minutes
Hip-Hop (Ages 9-16) 45 minutes
Girls' attire: leotard (any
color), tights, jazz pants/shorts. Flat black tap shoes for Tap class, black
hip-hop/jazz sneakers for Hip-Hop class.
Boys' attire: sweat/track pants or
shorts and t-shirt. Black hip-hop/jazz
sneakers or clean, non-marking sneakers for Hip-Hop class.
Gymnastics Classes
for Ages 3-9
Kindergym (Ages 3-6) 45 minutes
Designed especially for the young
tumbler, this high-energy class will concentrate on basic floor and mat work
to increase flexibility, strength and coordination. Skills such as
cartwheels, forward rolls, log rolls and tables will be taught. Obstacle
courses and props such as parachutes, balls and hula hoops make this class a
hit!
Attire: navy blue biketard, white gymnastics shoes
Gymnastics (Ages 6-9)
45 minutes
This program is aimed toward the
recreational gymnast. Rooted in solid gymnastics principles, tumbling basics
are mastered in preparation of more advanced skills. Mats, balance beam and
other equipment will be utilized. Exercises incorporate strengthening,
flexibility and endurance.
