The Triangle Dance Center Student Dance Company was formed in 2012 as an extracurricular activity for those students with a desire to improve their dance technique and to have more performance opportunities throughout the year. The non-competitive troupe has performed at venues such as Hershey Park, Dorney Park, Great Adventure, TD Bank Ballpark, the Hillsborough Tree Lighting, Downtown Somerville Holiday Jubilee, the Somerville Holiday Lights Parade, and the Chelsea Assisted Living. The Company is open to students 7 years old and up who are enrolled in Ballet and at least one other dance technique class.
Group Trips & Special Events
TDC has hosted group trips to performances of the Radio City Rockettes' Christmas Spectacular, The Nutcracker, and Broadway's Mary Poppins, and White Christmas. The studio has also sponsored and participated in many special events including master classes, Family Fun Day, National Dance Week activities, the Hillsborough Memorial Day Parade, Pilates for Pink, and an annual toy drive benefiting the Somerset County United Way. Dancers have performed in Walt Disney World in a parade down Main Street in Magic Kingdom and a stage show in Epcot.
One formal observation week is held where parents may watch their child's classes in their entirety and have an opportunity to videotape or take photographs. Instructors may also invite parents into the classroom at other times throughout the year.
An end-of-the-year show is held to celebrate the students' hard work and skills developed throughout the year. Details are distributed to students in the fall. Dancing Together and adult classes do not participate.
Summertime dance and gymnastics fun! Themed camps for ages 3-8 are offered in July and include dancing, tumbling, arts & crafts and more. Classes for ages 2 and up are held for six weeks in July and August and are a wonderful way to try out a new technique and to keep your technique fresh.
